Annual Oratorical Contest - Optimist Club Oakville.

Optimist International hosts an annual Oratorical and Essay Contest. As a club we host a local contest. The winner of our club contest than competes at the District level. District winners are then eligible to compete at the National level.

The Optimist Club of Oakville is pleased to host an annual Oratorical Contest. It provides youth with the opportunity to express themselves and gain confidence in their abilities to express themselves and has been a focus for the Optimist Club of Oakville since its inception. Optimist Clubs have hosted Oratorical Contests since 1928.

The Optimist Club of Van Wert invites area students to enter its annual Essay and Oratorical contests, for the opportunity to win prize money and the possibility of earning thousands of dollars in scholarships.

The WINUM District sponsors three scholarship contests for students to earn money to pursue opportunities in higher education: the Communication Contest for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CCDHH), the Essay Contest and the Oratorical Contest. The contests are conducted at the Club level, then Zone, and at the District level.

The High School Oratorical contest is on Monday, March 16th, 2020, at 7:00pm, in the CHS LGI room. The Jr. High School Oratorical contest is on Monday, March 23rd, 2020, at 7:00pm, in CJrHS LGI room.

The Pacific Southwest District (PSWD) of Optimist International is one of three Southern California based administrative units of Optimist International and encompasses several counties in Central and Southern California. More than 60 individual Optimist Clubs are included in this service organization of men and women, boys, and girls, dedicated to assisting youth and expert how to.

The date for the Chilliwack Oratorical Contest will be announced soon. Open to youth age 12 to 18 (as of October 1st 2019) in the Districts of Hope, Agassiz and Chilliwack. You may enter both the essay and the oratorical contests, but can enter the contests only through ONE Optimist Club.

Since its start in 1928, the Optimist Oratorical Contest has become the longest-running program sponsored by Optimist International. The contest is designed for youth to gain experience in public speaking and provide them with the opportunity to compete for a college scholarship. How does it work?

Oratorical Contest This contest allows Bixby school youth to gain experience in public speaking on a pre-assigned topic and if qualified, to participate at the district and state levels of competition.

The Essay Contest is sponsored by Optimist International to give young people the opportunity to write about their own opinions regarding the world in which they live. The approach can encompass a young person’s personal experience, the experience of their country or a more historical perspective.
